Digital Fabrication Resources in the Art Department of UW–Madison
The nodeLab features 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC machines. It is located in the Humanities Building, room 6411.
How can I access nodeLab equipment?
Enroll in a class
- Art 409: Digital Fabrication Studio is offered most Fall and Spring semesters
Become a nodeLab student member
- Take the ART 409 class. Select graduate students can receive an exemption for previous experience based on a review with Professor Mitchell and Erin McAdams.
- After talking with nodeLab staff or faculty, contact Erin McAdams (emcadams2@wisc.edu) to pay the $100 semester fee. This fee will grant you access to use the equipment in the nodeLab for the semester.
- Sign the User Agreement
- Visit the nodeLab during open hours and present the signed agreement and receipt from fee payment to Erin McAdams.
Reserve Equipment
Once registered as a nodeLab member, you can schedule time with the equipment you need
- Access the Teamup calendar, which will be shared with you once you complete the agreement and pay the fee.
- Choose the day and equipment you wish to reserve.
- Enter the duration of your reservation, your name, a description of your project, and your email.
- Click Save. If you need to change or delete your reservation, please email Alena Reyes (reyes26@wisc.edu).
